Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals is searching for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor working directly with open pit mining clients, for service and maintenance in the Alberta Oil Sands. This opportunity is safety-sensitive and in a demanding environment. They are available within the organization due to continual growth and the need for additional resources to support our growing teams and ever-expanding heavy equipment needs. Warehouse Supervisors will direct the warehouse workforce and provide expertise to ensure tasks are completed to Heavy Metal Equipment's standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. We are seeking an individual dedicated to safety, are responsible for guiding and mentoring Warehouse Technicians, planning and managing the workloads, and creating efficiencies. An excellent Warehouse Supervisor will: Be self-motivated with a powerful positive drive and commitment to maintain strong process control and behavioral discipline Be able to build and maintain strong positive relationships and work culture Be proactive, able to think on your feet, and have exceptional problem-solving skills Be prepared to go the extra mile to achieve the desired results Have exceptional organizational skills Have exceptional leadership skills Carry out the day-to-day tasks relative to the process of receiving, storing, and shipping goods As a Warehouse Supervisor, YOU will: Comply with all site safety procedures and initiatives Direct the workflow of warehousing activities within the team Be responsible for guiding and mentoring the warehousing team Participate in developing processes and procedures, identifying opportunities to create efficiencies Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and supplies throughout the warehouse to sustain production activities (reconcile, pick, unload, label, and store) Unload trucks, check in merchandise, reconcile purchase orders with sales orders, and distribute received inventory to designated production areas Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick up according to schedule (pick, load, pack, wrap, label, stage, and ship) Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and arranging for repairs Facilitate inventory management and inform management of low inventory; record inventory counts in computer systems Generate reports documenting defective materials, shortages, and overages Provide quality service by following the company's, the client's, and legislated safety standards Preserve a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations tidy Promote a clean shipping supply area by complying with procedures, practices, and regulations Complete required reports with accuracy and provide all information Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed What’s in it for you? Work at the Heart of Canada’s Energy Sector Based in the Alberta Oil Sands (Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo Region), you’ll work on a 14/14 rotation in a safety-first environment. Shifts are 12 ½ hours, alternating sets between days and nights. Accommodations are provided in a camp setting, and flights are provided from hub locations (Calgary or Edmonton). It is your responsibility to get to the hub location. What We’re Looking For: A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work Experience with Heavy Equipment Maintenance or related industry with mechanical aptitude (preferred) Proven warehouse work experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role Proficiency with inventory software, RF equipment, databases, and systems Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices with an excellent safety attitude Experience receiving parts Intermediate computer skills Customer service focus and ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships Strong ethics and compliance with rules and regulations are a must Strong numbers oriented and attention to detail Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines Team player shows initiative and a continual learner Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Current Forklift Certification Clean Driver’s Abstract and Advanced Class 5 License Demonstrated ability to pass a respiratory fit test and don a mask at any time, which includes meeting facial hair requirements Ability to meet fitness standards and handle 50 lbs Bonus Perks for Commuters Not local?
