Full job description
Delta North Groups geomatics division is seeking new and experienced construction surveyors to join our team. As a surveyor, you will be responsible for leading and managing field operations and ensuring projects are completed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. This role involves working on major construction projects in Edmonton and other regions such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Responsibilities include:

-Leading construction layout using GPS, total station and level

-Communicating project scope and schedule to team members and ensuring project tasks are completed on time

-Acting as a liaison between the Project Manager and client representative

-Managing information flow from field to office and preparing clear, concise and accurate field notes, records and calculations

-Ensuring compliance with quality assurance, company HSE program, and policy

To be considered for this role, you should be physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, willing to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote areas for extended periods and varied hours. A valid class 5 driver’s license is required. Good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good attendance, sound judgment skills, and general computer knowledge are also required. Minimum 2 years of field experience is required. Preference will be given to those with a two-year technical diploma in Geomatics or civil engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position may be subject to undergo Drug and Alcohol, and Fit for Duty testing per client and/or project specific requirements.
