Brewster Travel Canada has been providing amazing natural experiences to guests of the Canadian Rocky Mountains since 1892. Starting with two young Brewster brothers providing guided excursions in the Rocky Mountain national parks, we are now a leading travel and tourism provider in Canada. We own and operate five of the biggest attractions in the Rocky Mountains; the Banff Gondola, Banff Lake Cruise, Maligne Lake Cruise, Glacier Adventure and the all new Glacier Skywalk. We are passionate, local travel experts who help all our guests get the very most out of their Canadian travel holiday.
The Maligne Lake Cruise, located 45 minutes oustide of Jasper, is an experience like no other. This interpretive tour has been declared the "Best Boat Cruise in Canada" by 8 million Reader's Digest subscribers. You'll be inspired by the beauty of Maligne Lake's vibrant blue waters and by the stunning lofty peaks as you cruise to Spirit Island, a world-famous destination accessible only by boat.
A complimentary shuttle runs daily from the Jasper townsite to Maligne Lake. Due to the remote location, a $10/day benefit is provided to full time employees commuting daily from Jasper to Maligne Lake. Subsidized staff accommodation is located within the town of Jasper. Full time employees with their own accommodation receive a $100/month living allowance June through September. Seasonal employees are eligible for a performance and retention bonus of up to $1 per hour worked.
Maligne Lake has 2 venues for dining for groups and the public. The View Restaurant, located inside the Day Lodge offers a variety of meal choices including buffet breakfast and dinner for groups, an outdoor BBQ and all day self-serve cafeteria. The Heritage Chalet, a National Historic Site of Canada with origins dating as far back as 1927, serves both afternoon tea and a group dinner buffet, as well as a complete wedding venue. Maligne Lake is known for high food standards and a quality experience. At the Day Lodge our full kitchen has been completely renovated with new walk in coolers, a new prep room, and new equipment. The Heritage Chalet has a small but fully equipped kitchen which is primarily used as a finishing kitchen. Working under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, Line Cooks are responsible for;
Preparing a variety of self-serve items, soups, stews, chili, etc.
Evening buffet dinners, weddings and special functions which encompass the events catered in our View Restaurant and historic Maligne Lake Chalet
Work Schedule;
Able to commit to working full time from May 15th, 2017 - October 9th, 2017
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to work well with and without supervision
2-3 years' cooking experience
Attention to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment
