Full job description
We are seeking a hands-on, guest-oriented individual that considers themselves a “jack-of-all-trades” type. Using power tools and hand tools, our maintenance team provides general labour, maintenance assistance and preventative maintenance functions for the Maintenance Department of the hotel.

Duties:

Maintain the overall good repair of hotel rooms including all facilities, furnishings and fixtures;
Complete all work orders as assigned and in a timely manner;
Repair and maintain hotel room heating/ventilation system;
Perform general plumbing tasks as required to repair sinks, toilets, tubs/showers;
Assist with renovation projects and upgrades;
Assist with maintaining the kitchen, laundry, pool, spa, and fitness areas & equipment;
Communicate effectively with all other departments in the hotel, including housekeeping, front desk, and F&B;
Ensure upkeep of the common areas and grounds;
Perform scheduled routine maintenance on equipment;
Respond to guest and staff requests in rooms and public spaces;
Use both power and hand tools in a safe, efficient manner;
Perform other related duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Executive Team;

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems; strong initiative and attention to detail;
Use time management skills to prioritize work orders, radio calls, and other general job functions;
Knowledge of AV and computer systems; a willingness to adapt to new technology;
A passion for customer service and hospitality; well-developed interpersonal skills;
Ability to work safely in unsupervised environment;
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs, must be in good physical condition;
A demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to a team environment;
Required Training and Experience:

Previous maintenance experience preferred;
Painting experience, related machinery and hand tool experience is an asset;
Required licenses, certificates and registrations:

Valid WHMIS certificate is an asset;
Valid driver’s license is required.
