Reports to
Lift Operations Supervisor
Position Overview
The Lift Operations Foreman works as part of the Mountain Operations team. They will assist in all aspects of Lift Operations including onsite daily supervision of Lift Operations staff, assisting in training new Lift Operations staff, having knowledge and understanding of all procedures for Lift Operations and related safety procedures, addressing any safety issues which would put an employee or guest in an unsafe situation, maintain the inventory all Lift Operations lift tools, ensuring mazes and ramps are maintained at all times, ensuring all start up and shut down procedures are followed and completed at every lift.

The Lift Operations Foreman will also help maintain records and documents such as daily lift logs, lift incident reports, etc.

The incumbent should expect to be working outside in any, all and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal role, 5 days out of 7 per week.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Qualifications
Ski Industry experience (within Lift Operations preferred)
Previous supervisory experience
Previous experience operating surface lifts and aerial chairlifts
Previous experience in front-facing customer service roles
Able to ski/snowboard in all types of mountain terrain in varying conditions
Risk management experience
Mechanical aptitude (a background in mechanical experience preferred)
Physically & mentally fit
Capable and willing to work outside, at times in severe weather environment
Valid class 5 driver’s license (or better)
Minimum age 18 years old

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Daily supervision of Lift Operations staff per Ski Marmot Basin’s Lift Operations Training Manual, ski industry best practices and company policies/procedures
Ensure all Lift Operators are competent in lift duties, daily operating procedures and emergency procedures
Help maintain lift records and documents
Maintain proper lift standards as per the Z-98 code
Ensure a safe working environment for all Lift Operators, address or report any unsafe situations

Additional:

Provide onsite supervision of employees
Work in a safe efficient manner; point out any safety concerns that would put any employee or guest in an unsafe situation
Good working knowledge and understanding of all lift operations/safety procedures; ensure staff compliance and excellence in same
Help maintain an inventory of all Lift Operations tools & materials
Ensure mazes and ramps are always maintained
Ensure all start up/shut down procedures are followed and completed at each lift daily
