Job Description

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Laundry Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
Ensure the upkeep of all Laundry/Valet areas in respect to complete care, cleanliness and maintenance
Train and supervise all employees within Laundry/Valet department
Work with employees on a daily basis to upgrade skills and decision making
Monitor health and safety regulations and W.H.I.M.S. training
Active supporter of hotel committees
Ensure all equipment within the department is maintained and is in good working order
General office administration, which includes town contracts, payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory control
Performance evaluation of all Laundry/Valet colleagues
Conduct and follow up on monthly communication meetings
Ensure all areas of food & beverage, housekeeping and linen closets are stocked and maintained
Ensure guest requests are dealt with in a timely manner
Assume the operations in the absence of the Laundry Manager
Adhere to the hotels vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guests vehicles
Follow policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Previous supervisory experience required
Laundry experience an asset
Valid Alberta driver’s license required, ability to drive standard vehicle an asset
Able to work flexible hours over a 24 hour period
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to make decisions
Must be in good physical condition
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisor
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Your team and working environment:

Walking: 6-8 hrs/day
Standing: 4-6 hr/day
Bending/Reaching: 6-8 hrs/day
Pushing/Pulling: 1-2 hrs/day
Physical Effort: Required to lift up to 50-80 lbs
Environmental Stress: high-works in hot/cold conditions, high noise level, work with hazardous machinery, constantly going in and out of buildings

Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
