Duties
Visitor Services Attendants - Campgrounds 
Campgrounds Attendants welcome visitors from all over the world, providing information, and education about camping in the national park. Campground attendants provide information on a wide variety of topics including camping, fees, safety, weather, trails, day use areas, wildlife, park regulations and policies. Our team members spend time working outdoors; they are responsible for cleaning facilities, providing minor maintenance, and conducting facility rounds. Team members are also accountable for collecting fees and keeping accurate financial records. 

Visitor Services Attendants – Entry Gates 
As the first line of contact for visitors entering Jasper National Park, gate attendants have the privilege of welcoming visitors into the park and setting the tone for their visit. Gate attendants at any of Jasper’s three gates provide a friendly service to visitors entering Jasper by collecting revenue through the sale of park passes, and providing basic safety and trip planning information. Gate attendants work independently for most of their shift but contribute to the smooth functioning of a larger team at each entry gate.

Visitor Services Attendants - Information Centres
Visitor services and revenue collection at information/visitor centres to enhance the visitor experience. This includes providing comprehensive information to the visiting public on a wide variety of topics including: campgrounds, picnic areas, road conditions, trails, points of interest, weather, safety, park features and history (natural and cultural), wilderness travel, wildlife, park regulations and policies, commercial accommodation and attractions; selling park passes, backcountry permits and fishing licenses, and properly accounting for revenue received; responding to e-mail and phone enquiries from the public and the national office webmaster that are related to visitor experiences; contributing information to park publications and web information.

Education:
Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or/an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Degree equivalency
Experience:
Experience in interacting with the public in a reception/orientation capacity;
Experience in anticipating/meeting public needs, resolving complaints, anticipating/detecting incidents and finding solutions;
Experience in handling cash and operating point of sales.

Additional experience:
Experience in maintaining/restocking supplies and equipment;
Experience in the maintenance of facilities.

Operational Requirements:
The position requires the incumbent to:
Work shift work, and/or evenings, and/or weekends and/or statutory holidays and/or provincial/territorial holidays;
Wear a Parks Canada uniform and abide by the uniform policy; 
Make moderate physical effort to sit and stand for prolonged periods and/or to clean facilities/grounds;
Be exposed to variable weather conditions;
Be exposed to noxious odors from car fumes; dust; cleaning products; wet conditions;
Be exposed to minor injury when performing cleaning and maintenance activities;
Occasionally demonstrate tasks to others.
Possession of a valid First Aid Certificate is an asset.
Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 5 driver's license.
