What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Maintenance Manager will develop a well engaged team of cleaners and maintenance personnel who understand their importance in delivering a great experience for our guests and fellow team members.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is dependent on experience.

What will you do in this job?:
All buildings (Discovery Centre, Glacier Skywalk, and Employee Camp) are kept clean and well maintained
Overall safety of our facilities as they pertain to our guests and staff
Develop a preventative maintenance program all facilities with appropriate checklists, and follow up
Maintain a positive working relationship with key partners including our waste water partners, Parks Canada, suppliers and repair personnel
Being an active member of the management team of the Columbia Icefield
All regular maintenance of our facilities located at the Columbia Icefield
Annual start up and shut down of Icefield facilities
Offer suggestions for capital improvements at that will improve efficiency, drive a positive guest and employee experience, and allow us to become better environmental stewards
Motivating our maintenance team and ensuring clean and neat facilities
Manage contractors within Icefield facilities
Leadership responsibilities of 3 or more departments, and ability to delegate effectively
Achieving revenue targets, and managing expenses to desired net operating targets
Develop budgets with senior leadership, forecast expenses
Manage expenses relative to expectations
Hire, train, schedule and onboarding new staff members
Develop, revise and update training materials to ensure training is consistently delivered
Hold staff accountable to all duties and expectations as laid out in the training materials
Provide an environment whereby maximized staff engagement is the culture
Keep all inventory storage and work areas organized, clean, and void of clutter
Provide on the floor leadership and role modelling for staff
Ensure that team leadership assets are efficiently used
Ensure all communications to customers and colleagues are professional in nature and crafted with respect
Uphold uniform and appearance standards
Actively participating in team’s activities during and after operational hours
Being on call 1 night per week at our staff accommodation – (MOD program)
Active member of the Columbia Icefield Management team, supporting peers & continually working at building a cohesive team which works together to achieve results.
Assisting in opening and closing of our staff accommodation, task can vary from cleaning, employee move in/out, uniform cleaning and common room cleaning
Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
3+ years of leadership experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to troubleshoot problems, create and implement solutions
Power engineer or other trade is a definite asset
Well rounded in plumbing, carpentry, operation of boilers, heating and electrical systems
Hands on manager
Strong relationship building skills
Hiring and performance management experience
Possess excellent conflict management skills
Valid Canadian driver’s license (with less than 5 demerit points)
Able to communicate fluently in English, secondary language skills are an asset
