We are seeking staff for the summer season, starting immediately until October 15th for Terracana Ranch Resort.

Please note that Terracana Ranch resort is located about 1 1/2 hour drive from Jasper, near Valemount, BC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Respond to all maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.

· Lawn mowing and grounds maintenance in the summer are major components of this job. We need to be ready for anything, so snow plowing, snow blowing, and shoveling may be required depending on the weather.

· Maintenance work to guest cabins and resort buildings. (Painting, staining, drywall, electrical, plumbing, heating & cooling ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, light carpentry, door and window repairs etc.)

· Maintenance work with furnace, water lines, hot water tanks, satellite systems, Wi-Fi boosters, cell boosters, security system, computers, and office electronics.

· Understand and follow all Terracana Safety S.O.P.’s and fill out all safety forms. As we are in a remote location personal safety is very important.

· Calmly and professionally deal with all other departments and guest encounters.

· Maintain Shop and equipment areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

· Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections and required maintenance on all equipment and work vehicles.

· Inspect public areas for repairs.

· When livestock is on property, any work required for animal care and maintenance of livestock areas, including feeding, water supply, fencing and culvert repairs, checking animal health, assisting with calving season, and cattle drives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· This is a physically demanding role. Candidates must be able to do full days of manual labour.

· Able to work under pressure and withstand extreme outdoor temperatures and weather.

· A valid BC Driver’s License is required for this role. The ability to drive a trailer is preferred.

· Previous experience in groundskeeping and/or maintenance is preferred.

· Mechanical skills with the ability to service and conduct minor repairs to work truck, tractor, skid steer, ATV’s etc.

· Basic computer skills to send emails, perform digital safety forms, maintain parts inventories.

· Work in a team environment and follow directions from supervisor as well as being able to work independently throughout the day.

· Heavy equipment experience with skid steer, front end loader, tractor, & excavator is an asset.

· Experience using a chainsaw and woodchipper is preferred.

· Basic farm knowledge; able to do repairs and maintenance on fences, waters, roads, and landscaping on pens/pastures.

· Honest, reliable, and friendly with the ability to interact with guests, contractors, government officials etc.
