Job Title and Summary

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager reports to the Executive Housekeeper and Management to facilitate a rewarding work experience for all housekeeping staff, further ensuring Guest satisfaction by adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager position would commence employment April 8, 2024 and work through to November 1, 2024. This 7 month position is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with people, being outdoors, and being active. We are ideally looking for a candidate who would like to make Jasper home. Our hope is to find someone to return as Assistant Housekeeping Manager season after season. Year around accommodation can be provided to the right candidate!

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager are to:

- Consistently offer professional, welcoming and appealing service to Guests of Alpine Village
- Maintain the Housekeeping Department’s high standards of cleanliness
- Assist in supervising approximately 20 Room Attendants
- Communicate daily with the Executive Housekeeper and Maintenance Department, as well as with Front Office staff and Management
- Inspect all checkouts and stayovers for cleanliness and maintenance needs
- Assist with the training of any new Room Attendants throughout the season
- Motivate Room Attendants to ensure positive team environment
- Perform other duties as required such as assisting with room cleaning, in the laundry department or with grounds keeping

Core Skills

The core skills required to be a successful Assistant Housekeeping Manager are:

Demonstrated experience in a Housekeeping department is mandatory (2+ years)
Proven supervisory experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal abilities and ability to work within a team
Highly responsible and reliable work ethic
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Highly motivated, energetic, and positive

Additional Skills/Assets
Ability to be walking, standing, biking, bending, reaching, lifting for 4 – 8 hours/day
Ability to work days and weekends
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or equivalent, asset but not mandatory
CPR certification/WHMIS certification, asset but not mandatory

Qualifications
High School Diploma
2 + years of Housekeeping experience
Experience in a supervisory role
Has own accommodation (asset, but not mandatory)
Must speak, read, and write English
Citizenship Requirement: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for an extended period of time – either a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada

Salary
Base Wage to be determined based on experience.
