Job Summary
Shovel Pass Lodge is a backcountry lodge located along the Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park. We are a full-service lodge, providing meals, drinks, and private cabins to hikers. The lodge is only accessible by hiking and we receive our supplies by helicopter and horse packing.

We are hiring a Backcountry Lodge Cook for the 2026 season (June 29-September 17). This role involves providing exceptional food service from a modest kitchen, ensuring customer satisfaction through quality meal preparation and attentive service.

Duties

Prepare and curate a menu within a set cuisine
Prepare and serve breakfast & dinner to groups between 10-20 people
Prepare and assemble alternate food options for guests with dietary restrictions/allergies
Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in food handling areas
Maintain proper food storage and sanitation procedures
Set up dining areas, tables, and service stations for daily operations
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate meal delivery
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management
Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurants, or kitchen environments is preferred
Culinary education and/or backcountry lodge kitchen experience is an asset
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
A positive attitude, teamwork-oriented mindset, and strong communication skills
We are a true backcountry lodge, meaning there is no road access, so candidates must be physically fit as this position requires hiking
Job Type: Seasonal
