What We Are Looking For:

The People and Culture Manager plays a vital role in cultivating a warm and engaging atmosphere throughout our three hotels. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, while championing our values and daily consistent actions. The People and Culture Manager will ensure our team members feel valued, empowered, and inspired to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires regular travel to all three properties, with each hotel being visited every two weeks.


What You Bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, Communication or a related field (or equivalent experience).
A minimum of 2 years in a people leadership role, preferably in hospitality or tourism.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with strong emotional intelligence and a heart for hospitality.
Excellent communication skills focusing on empathy and clarity.
Proven ability to build and sustain a positive workplace culture aligned with organizational values.
Familiar with Alberta and British Columbia employment laws and regulations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean 5-year driver’s abstract and driving confidence for mountain winter conditions.
Comfortable with systems and software, eager to champion technology as a tool for improving processes and enhancing organizational effectiveness while upholding the Vantage Values (AI, HRIS, Cloud Based Systems, etc.).
Experience managing staff housing programs and career development initiatives is an asset.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Benefits

Oversee full-cycle recruitment for all departments, ensuring culture fit and operational alignment.
Implement a creative recruitment strategy to attract and retain the right people and capitalize on community and post-secondary partnerships where possible.
Develop and deliver immersive onboarding experiences tailored to our organization and the uniqueness of each property.
Manage benefits programs, oversee administration, communicate clearly and advocate for employee needs and program enhancements.
Housing

Oversee staff housing programs for employees at all three properties, ensuring accommodations are safe, comfortable, and conducive to a positive living experience.
Coordinate with property managers to address housing maintenance, allocation, and compliance with local regulations.
Implement and enforce policies for fair housing assignments, resolving conflicts or concerns with empathy and fairness.
Performance & Employee Relations

Support leaders in conducting performance evaluations, ensuring clear feedback and goals to set employees up for success and maintain alignment with the guiding principles of the organization.
Support the performance management process when required, assisting with coaching conversations and disciplinary action.
Address employee concerns with empathy and fairness, upholding a respectful workplace.
Training & Development

Design and deliver training that equips each team with the skills and understanding of expectations within their departments and locations. (e.g., customer service, food safety, etc.).
Routinely review and improve upon existing training initiatives using feedback and performance data.
Create career pathways, mentoring, and cross-training to help team members thrive.
Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with labour laws (Alberta & BC), HR policies, and Health & Safety standards.
Conduct regular audits and stay ahead of legislative changes.
Ensure employees and managers are trained as required in safety protocols, such as emergency procedures, evacuations, and ensuring compliance and awareness.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, investigations, and training, reporting to regulatory bodies as required.
Reporting & Strategy

Partner with the executive team and department heads to align HR strategies with business goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to culture and operations.
Track key HR metrics (e.g., retention, engagement, training).
Provide strategic insights to leadership and help align people priorities with business goals.

Location and Travel

Based in either Valemount, BC or Jasper, AB the role requires regular visits to each hotel, located 120 km and 320 km from the central property, totalling approximately 880 km of round-trip travel. Candidates must be willing and comfortable with driving in winter conditions to ensure consistent engagement with all teams. This role will have access to a company vehicle to utilize for work related travel.
