Scott Builders Inc. requires motivated, safety conscious and reliable skilled Construction Laborers responsible for performing tasks involving physical labour on commercial and industrial construction projects in Jasper, AB.

Through the regular course of job duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the worksite and equipment is prepared, cleaned and maintained in accordance to appropriate safety and construction procedures. They will be required to complete physical tasks using a variety of hand and power tools and assist trades with various construction activities. Responsibilities will include:

Follow day to day direction and tasks assigned by the Crew Lead or Superintendent
Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches
Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete
Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis
Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, impact tools, forklifts/aerial platforms and other tools as directed
Assist trades in construction activities such as framing, cribbing, demolition, drywall, painting, roofing, tin work and other tasks as assigned
Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to the Foreman or Superintendent on-site
Participate in/at worksite safety meetings
Proactively identify and prevent hazards
Work out of town as required
All duties of the Construction Laborer are to be performed according to Scott Builders Inc. operating procedures in order to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform the task.

Candidates will have the following experience, qualifications and core competencies:

High School diploma preferred
1+ years’ of previous construction labour experience is preferred
Experience working on pre-engineered steel building projects would be an asset.
Ability to operate a variety of construction equipment
Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights
Valid drivers’ license
Fall Protection certification would be an asset
Aerial Life certification would be an asset
Ability to take direction and meet project timelines
Strong focus on safety
