This position is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to apply their expertise while working on diverse electrical projects. The Journeyman Electrician will take on leadership responsibilities, oversee installations and repairs, and ensure all work meets the highest standards of safety and quality. This position is hired from a Calgary or Edmonton Branch so the role included a daily LOA stipen for daily expenses and premium per hour for this out of town job. Includes out of town accommodations and travel costs. Valid Drivers License is required Duties Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute projects effectively. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and perform necessary repairs to ensure systems are operational and efficient. Supervise apprentices and provide on-the-job training to enhance their skills and knowledge. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure timely project completion. Adhere to local and national electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress. Skills Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in electrical work. In-depth understanding of electrical principles, codes, and best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing a variety of electrical systems. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and clients. Leadership skills to supervise apprentices and ensure quality work. Familiarity with low voltage systems, automation, or renewable energy systems is a plus.
