Role Overview

As the Senior Bookkeeping Manager (Super-Manager), you will:

Oversee all client managers and their teams
Set standards for workflows, reporting quality, and client experience
Act as the final escalation point for complex technical or operational issues
Report directly to the partners and contribute to strategic decisions for scaling the business

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, mentor, and hold accountable client managers overseeing multiple bookkeepers
Build team capacity and succession plans as the client base grows
Develop and enforce SOPs for bookkeeping, reconciliation, reporting, and client communications
Analyze performance (KPIs, profitability, team efficiency) and report to partners
Review monthly/quarterly deliverables from client managers for accuracy and completeness
Resolve escalated issues related to reconciliations, multi-entity accounting, inventory/COGS tracking, and sales tax compliance
Maintain high service standards across all client portfolios
Identify process gaps and implement automation tools (QBO/Xero optimizations, Dext, A2X, etc.)
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors and improve turnaround time
Stay ahead of industry trends in bookkeeping and implement best practices
Qualifications

CPA (Chartered Professinal Accountant)/ CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation required (or in final stages of completion) CPB Preferred
5+ years of bookkeeping experience (experience with Shopify, Amazon, or other e-commerce platforms preferred)
2+ years managing managers or leading multi-layered teams
Advanced knowledge of QBO, A2X, Dext/Hubdoc, and payment platform reconciliations
Strong understanding of GST/HST/PST compliance (and US sales tax an asset)
Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead a fully remote workforce
Experience scaling teams and implementing operational KPIs
