The Facility Maintenance Worker will be responsible for preventative and ongoing maintenance and repairs of all aspects of the facility and grounds. Assess work needing to be completed and provide maintenance options and solutions to the Operations Manager. The Facility Maintenance Worker should be mature, knowledgeable, and experienced. It would benefit from having experience in recovery and having a working knowledge of the disease concept and 12-step programming. Qualifications: · Experience in various carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical and other building maintenance work. Must possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades. · Experience in diagnosing and determining the proper tools, methods, supplies and equipment for maintenance repair. · Ability to do heavy lifting, snow removal and lawn maintenance. · Experience in ordering and managing supplies and engaging vendors · Basic computer literacy. · Understanding of safety and appropriate PPE. · Professional presentation and attitude. · Have certification in; First Aid and CPR. · Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. · Work independently and in collaboration with others. · An ability to perform basic and mid-complexity levels of repairs and maintenance. · Proven maintenance experience · Skilled in the use of hand and power tools · Strong time management skills. Additional skill sets: · Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills would be a benefit. · Work with people who have been affected by substance misuse and mental health issues. · Observe and recognize behavioural and health status changes in participants. · Role model healthy lifestyle choices. · Set and maintain healthy, clear boundaries. · Effectively support and motivate participants Responsibilities: · Maintain inventory levels of facility supplies. · Maintain focus while working independently. · Perform general maintenance work as needed. · Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary. · Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them. · The repairing equipment, or structures as necessary. · Perform and complete various plumbing, heating, electrical and painting tasks. · Organize and prioritize own workload. · Ensure that properties are safe and void of any danger to our clients, visitors, and staff by putting away harmful objects or chemicals, equipment, and machinery in the proper location. · Maintain open communication with Operations Manager, liaising with trades and administration for information regarding operations, renovations, and authorizations · Clean and prepare rooms, getting them ready for new occupants to move in. · Supervise the regular cleaning of the facility to promote cleanliness in the environment · Schedule work to be executed on the property Mandatory · A valid class 5 driver’s license. · A Vulnerable Persons security clearance. · First Aid/CPR Certification Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year Benefits: Company events Discounted or free food On-site gym Work Location: In person
