Position: Senior Technical Account Manager - UltraPure Acid
Primary Location: Home Based - Canada
Reports to: UPA Commercial SLT

Compensation: $150-160,000.00 CDN + Bonus and Benefits (salaried, exempt)

About this Role and About You

The Senior Technical Account Manager for UltraPure Acid (UPA) plays a pivotal role in bridging technical expertise with commercial strategy to support high-purity chemical manufacturing operations. Operating in a home-based capacity, this role is responsible for managing key customer relationships, contributing to strategic planning, leading/co-leading internal coordination across supply chain, quality, engineering, and commercial teams, and leading / supporting special projects as they arise.
This role serves as the primary technical-commercial liaison for major clients, including Fujifilm, KPPC, Micron, Kanto US, and High Purity Products, driving alignment between customer’s product needs, our plants’ capabilities and our business objectives. Responsibilities include active management of the business including, but not limited to, customer on-boarding, customer experience management, NCR management (non-quality related), and driving solutions during planned and unplanned plant downtime.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage both tactical tasks and strategic initiatives that impact the short and long-term growth of the UltraPure Acid business.

This role has overlap with Sr. Business Manager role and requires strong emotional quotient (EQ), ability to work with ambiguity, demonstrate flexibility to lead or facilitate as the situation dictates.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related technical field is required; advanced degrees or certifications in manufacturing or process engineering are preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience.
Proven experience in leading in a technical environment, preferably in chemical manufacturing or high-purity products.
Strong financial acumen and ability to present business results to senior leadership.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Experience with customer relationship management and supply chain coordination.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities

Customer & Market Engagement
Serve as the primary techno-commercial contact for key customers including Fujifilm, KPPC, Micron, Kanto US, and High Purity Products. Ensure the customers receive the desired product from the appropriate plant while maximizing margins.
Ability to connect at other downstream Semiconductor Fabs like Intel, TSMC, and tier 2 and 3 fabs to drive technical needs and market Chemtrade products.
Oversee customer onboarding processes including credit applications and administrative setup.
Work with the CXi team (customer experience management team) on quarterly customer experience surveys and implement feedback-driven improvements.
Maintain and update the Commercial Prospect List and communicate regularly with the Sales Team.
Engage with the customer to identify leading edge customer requirements and engage the manufacturing team to capture these requirements in the business continuous improvement plan.
Ensure the Change Horizon Log changes by the business manufacturing team are communicated and understood by the customer per the required communication timeline requirements.
Strategic Planning & Financial Oversight
Contribute to the development of the Annual Plan and the 3-year Long Range Plan.
Contribute to the Commercial Business Strategy with input from technical, supply chain, pricing teams.
Contribute to the Monthly and Quarterly Business Results to SLT leadership.
Support SLT preparation for Monthly Executive Meetings and Quarterly Town Halls.
Operational & Supply Chain Coordination
Participate in Monthly IBP UPA Consensus and S&OP meetings.
Manage internal communications with Customer Service and Supply Chain teams.
Support Engineering Project Communications and UPA-related initiatives (e.g., ISOs, connections).
Contract & Pricing Management
Participate in commercial contract negotiations and reviews.
Contribute to pricing strategies.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Facilitate Monthly UPA Team Meetings focused on commercial strategy.
Collaborate with Plant and Technical Managers to align commercial and technical objectives.
