Job Description

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is in the midst of an exciting transformation as we reposition our iconic mountain resort through a multi-phase renovation cycle. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to help redefine a world-class destination, blending nature, luxury, and heritage into a reimagined guest experience.

We are seeking a visionary Director of Communications & Strategic Partnerships to shape and elevate the resort's global profile as a leader in transformative wellness and luxury hospitality. Following a landmark $100 million transformation that ushers in a new era of alpine luxury, this role will play a critical part in driving brand awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth. Working under the leadership of the Regional Director of Public Relations and the resort’s Director of Sales & Marketing, the successful candidate will serve as a passionate brand ambassador, bringing the resort's story to life through strategic communications, compelling storytelling, innovative partnerships, immersive brand experiences, and high-impact media engagement that resonate with discerning travellers, industry influencers, and global audiences.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Public Relations and the Director of Sales & Marketing of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

PR Strategy & Execution

Lead the execution of aligned PR strategies, working in partnership with the Regional Director of PR and the Director of Sales & Marketing to support brand positioning and revenue goals.
Identify and execute strategic media, influencer, and luxury brand partnership opportunities that elevate the resort’s visibility across key markets
Leverage existing media relationships while cultivating new contacts within Canadian, US, and international travel and lifestyle networks
Attend key media marketplaces and industry events as required
Media & Influencer Relations

Oversee and host individual and group travel media familiarization trips, including key media and influencers, with evening and weekend hosting as required.
Manage influencer and content creator collaborations in partnership with Marketing, including vetting, KPI development and follow-up, to ensure alignment with resort objectives and cohesive brand storytelling.
Content, Storytelling & Amplification

Develop and distribute press releases, story pitches, and media materials aligned with the resort’s repositioning strategy and evolving brand narrative
Provide PR amplification for on-property activations, culinary programming, and seasonal campaigns
Support internal communications and storytelling initiatives as required
Update and maintain the resort press kit, pressroom, and story starters, ensuring alignment with corporate and agency partners
Brand Reputation & Crisis Communications

Act as a spokesperson for the resort and as a key member of the crisis management team
Manage media inquiries and interview requests, including development of key messaging and spokesperson preparation
Monitor and support online reputation management in alignment with brand standards
Coordination, Reporting & Alignment

Coordinate on-site photo and film shoots in collaboration with Marketing and external partners
Collaborate with the regional PR team to maintain an up-to-date centralized media database
Maintain and update the regional media calendar on a weekly basis
Prepare monthly, mid-year, and annual PR reports for the executive team and corporate office
Pursue key industry awards and execute nominations aligned with brand strategy
Support additional initiatives as required in coordination with the Director of Sales & Marketing
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
5–10 years of progressive PR and partnership experience within luxury hospitality, wellness, or lifestyle brands
Creative, strategic thinker with a keen understanding of global luxury trends, cultural relevance, and experiential marketing
Proven track record of securing top-tier media coverage and delivering high-impact brand activations
Established network of global media contacts within luxury, travel, and wellness industries
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at crafting compelling narratives and copywriting for distinct audiences
Crisis communications and online reputation management experience required
Ability to prioritize numerous projects with competing deadlines, with strong attention to detail
Confident, polished presence with the ability to represent the property at the highest level
Experience utilizing CisionOne and Klear, or other media monitoring/influencer analysis tools
Acts as a positive ambassador for the team and corporate culture, fostering collaboration, trust, and mutual respect

Annual Salary of $92,000 to $97,000
