Quality Assurance Lead/Manager

Location: Edmonton, Alberta - On-site
Contract Length: 12 Months
Raise is currently hiring a Quality Assurance Lead/Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.


Specific Responsibilities:

The Quality Assurance Lead/Manager will provide oversight of GMP activities, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. This role involves organizing and prioritizing daily QA tasks, conducting training, and resolving complex quality issues through critical analysis and sound judgment. The successful candidate will be a proactive and motivated professional with a strong ability to learn quickly and solve problems effectively.


Essential Duties and Job Functions:

Reviews and approves batch manufacturing and testing records
Reviews and approves deviations, changes and CAPAs at the site or contract testing laboratories
Review and approve equipment, analytical instrument and computer system qualification documents
Reviews and approves test methods and method validation/transfer reports
Reviews and approves lab investigations associated with release testing and method validation/transfer at the site or contract testing laboratories
Participates in site internal audits, including review of analytical data, data audit trails and stability program data
Supports site inspection readiness activities
Trains QA Specialists on activities related to QA support of manufacturing activities
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives based on international regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

A BS or BA degree with over 8 years of Quality Assurance experience in a GMP environment or related quality role is preferred.
An MS degree with over 6 years of Quality Assurance experience in a GMP environment or related quality role is preferred.
A PhD degree in Chemistry with over 2 years of Quality Assurance experience in a GMP environment or related quality role is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with analytical techniques such as GC, LC, MS, NMR, and molecular characterization is an asset
Familiarity with Six Sigma, DMAIC methodology, risk management tools, and quality improvement statistical tools is advantageous
