NDT Inspector trainee

Westernbee Engineering services Ltd is a growing Calgary-based Engineering that requires a Visual Inspector, MT inspector etc.

Shop inspection and construction site for new fabrication of structural steel, piping, lifting equipment, cranes etc and existing structure steel and piping in services, equipment, cranes etc.

We are looking for a hardworking individual with a positive attitude. An ability to effectively work as part of a team is essential. The individual should have a desire to continue to grow their knowledge base, competency, and certifications.

The applicant will be trainee and will be trained by Westernbee Engineering services Ltd.

Structure engineering or mechanical engineering or Welding Engineering or material engineering or high school diploma , NDT courses or equivalent Etc..

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

Has the qualification to apply for CWB LEVEL 1, MT LEVEL 2, UT LEVEL 1 etc.

Testing Equipment and Methods

Visual inspection; Ultrasonic; Nondestructive testing; Magnetic particle; Liquid penetrate etc.

Specific Skills

Climb height (may be above 300 feet high) to inspect the welds, structure steel of equipment, lifting equipment, cranes etc.

Prepare, conduct visual, UT and MT inspection etc; Establish NDT techniques and calibration standards; Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects; Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to company, client, government's safety regulations etc. write the NDT inspection report and edit comments on pictures. good communication skills in professional methods. basic knowledge of with all kinds structure steel of equipment, cranes etc. report NDT inspection result to engineer. take measurements for engineer by tape measure and calliper etc.

Strong mechanical aptitude, familiar construction equipment is asset.

Prepares organized reports detailing examination findings

Sketches, measures, and photographs equipment

Works in the field under the remote direction and guidance of a Senior Engineer
