Full job description
Under the direction and supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager the Front of House Team Member works as part of a team within a service-oriented environment. They will perform general duties for catered functions and the cafeteria. Specifically, this position is responsible for:

Setting up buffets on tables and providing food and beverage services
Delivering and cleaning up catered food services to scheduled events
Taking food orders and performing cashier duties to cafeteria customers
Assisting with preparing food & beverage trays as per pre paid order as assigned
Cleaning counter area, tables and ensuring tidiness of work and public areas
Ensuring cleanliness and safe food handling practices
Receiving supplies ordered and restocking of items

Qualifications:
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar setting
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and write orders
Knowledge of food services and health and safety procedures
Ability to work under pressure in an extremely busy environment and organize work to ensure a smooth operation
Must be able to lift up to 15 kilograms and push up to 50 kilograms
Ability to work in varying temperatures throughout the day (inside and outside)
Cash-handling knowledge, POS and credit card handling
Experience setting up a bar and/or serving liquor is an asset
ProServe certification is an asset. Candidates without ProServe will be required to obtain ProServe after commencing in the position.

Job Description:
CFIS is now accepting applications for on-call, casual Food Service Assistant positions for our Seed and Core Cafeteria. The successful candidates will be responsible for covering absences for our regular employees in Food Services. Positions on-call employees will be asked to cover include Cook, Kitchen Assistant, Concession Cook and Food Service Custodian.

The responsibilities of this position include:
Adhering to Alberta’s safe food handling guidelines in maintaining a clean and safe workspace and daily temperature recordkeeping.
Preparing side dishes required for daily meal.
Assisting cooks with plating food.
Preparing food and beverage trays as per pre-paid orders, including assisting with the milk and birthday treat programs.
Stocking and tracking inventory of food and beverages for daily use.
Assisting in setting up the dining hall for food service.
Serving students and staff their daily lunch, this may include delivering meals to ECE (Early Childhood Education) classrooms.
Assisting dining hall volunteers and the Cook with maintaining a clean and safe dining hall between each sitting and at the end of food service.
Assisting with maintaining a clean and a safe dishwashing room.
Washing and sanitizing dishes in the cafeteria’s dishwasher room, using Alberta Health Service approved method for commercial dishwashing appliances and the ‘3 sink method’ where needed.
Assisting with the weekly sanitation check list.
Acting as cashier, when needed.
Assisting the Food Service Manager with receiving cafeteria supply deliveries.
Attending professional development training sessions as required and scheduled.
Working extra occasional after-hours may be available for school sponsored events.
