Jasper, AB Position Overview Ticket Control Agents work as part of the Guest Services Team. They are responsible for greeting and assisting all Marmot Basin patrons through the lift lines in a friendly and safe manner. They are also responsible for processing patrons’ lift tickets and passes at the lifts. Ticket Control Agents must gain a good working knowledge of the products and the scanning system and may be required to assist in other areas or department when required. This is a full time, seasonal role running from November through May. Please note that you may not receive full-time hours at the beginning/end of season and during other slow periods. The incumbent should expect to be working outside all day, every day, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. Ticket Control Agents must also provide their own ski or snowboard equipment. Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply. Attributes: Professional deportment with excellent customer service skills: experience dealing with all on-hill patrons Cheerful, outgoing personality; demonstrated temperament and disposition for stressful situations or irate customers Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Strong team member able to take direction Motivated and observant; able to perceive needed tasks and complete them without direction Self-aware; able to identify strengths and gaps in own abilities and training Able to use taught skills and previous experience to problem solve Recreational mountain pursuits, such as rock climbing, and ski touring, are considered assets. Qualifications: Demonstrated customer service skills dealing with the general public Physically fit and able to ski/snowboard easily between Lift Stations Capable of working outside, at times in severe weather conditions Ability to work well under pressure, I.e. during busy periods Ski/Snowboarding industry experience an asset Job Duties/Responsibilities: Acquire and demonstrate a solid working knowledge of the scanning system Ensure all passengers using the lift have a valid lift ticket/pass Properly log all invalid ticket scans Ensure that tickets are safely and visibly attached Check that proper runaway devices/safety straps are being used Check guests for loose pack straps/equipment that could become caught or tangled Ensure that guests are moving through lift lines as safely and efficiently as possible while maintaining a pleasant and outgoing attitude with all members of the public and staff Respond to customers in a courteous and professional manner Handle customer complains as they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual as necessary Relay customer quality improvement suggestions for company products and services Point out any safety concerns which would put any employee or customers in an unsafe situation Assist in all emergency situations Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to the job Assist other departments as needed, and perform any other tasks as assigned Supplementary: Respect and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the “Corporate Policies”, “Employee Handbook” and “Safety Operations Training Manuals” Understand and adhere to Ski Marmot Basin’s “Harassment Policy” and the company’s “Privacy Policy”.
