POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Site Manager for Project Management directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As a Site Manager in Canada, you will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading wind farm projects from ideation through completion while interacting with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will most often manage several moving project parts simultaneously.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Manages and coordinates all the activities during the delivery, erection, and commissioning phases of the WTG from the beginning of the project to the Final Certification by the Owner.
Coordinates with the contractor the mobilization of all heavy equipment on-site, including cranes, erection (mechanical and electric) equipment, and transportation equipment
Organizes and tracks all the quality control, transportation, and engineering documents for the project.
Prepares daily and weekly job progress reports to be reviewed by upper management.
Ensure all parts are delivered to the site complete and on time so as not to interfere with the construction schedule.
Interact with clients during wind farm construction.
Monitors/tracks the construction schedule to ensure it meets all contractual obligations.
Attend daily POD meetings with all contractors.
Monitor, coordinate, and approve all Nordex employees' or directly hired subcontractors’ hours, rotation, and vacation requests.
Process all purchase orders required for materials or services needed on site.
Monitor all additional costs incurred at the site.
Monitor the construction process to ensure it complies with Nordex-approved processes and procedures.
Coordinate with the Project Manager and implement solutions for problems encountered during the WTG on-site assembly and commissioning.
Monitor and control the budget of the site and its variations.
Manage contractors & sub-contractors.
Manage several activities at once; organize and prioritize work; meet deadlines and prepare reports.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE
Associate degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline or equivalent related work experience accepted; WTG on-site assembly experience preferred.
A PMP Certification or ability to receive one within the first year of employment is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with mechanical/construction; wind farm mechanical construction experience preferred.
Experience in quality management and quality control processes; wind turbine assembly experience preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Ability to travel domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required (100% travel) and ability to obtain a passport.
Fluency in Spanish/German a plus; English and French proficiency is a requirement.
Ability to work in Canada as a legal resident with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport.
Ability to move and manipulate up to 22.7 kilograms, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights above 91.4 meters.
Meet the weight requirement of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely utilize climbing equipment and climbing gear.
Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full, valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.

Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

The pay for this role is exempt at $120k- 140k CAD with up to a 15% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
