Area Manager (Full time/Permanent)

Indigo Park is looking for an Area Manager in Edmonton. The Area Manager will be responsible for the coordination and day-to-day management of all functions (staffing, equipment, overall operations). The Area Manager supports senior management in the budget development process and manages programs to ensure the successful development, maintenance and enhancement of client / customer relationships.

What Would You Be Doing?

Administration

Manage the parking locations under his/her responsibility, under our mandate as set out in management, or lease agreement
Ensure that the needs of each client are met promptly, and with a high degree of accuracy
Manage all internal/external policies for each location
Manage all service contracts related to each parking location, under his/her responsibility
Assist General Manager and Operations Manager with the annual budgets for each parking location
Attend client meetings with Operations Manager and General Manager
Review monthly revenue reports with Operations Manager
Prepare purchase orders and approve invoices for each parking location
Conduct regular, rate surveys to ensure each location remains competitive
Manage all personal injury, and damage claims for each parking location under his/her responsibility
Ensure that Accounting Dept has all necessary information (on time) to prepare client invoices for labor and management services
Operations

Establish, and maintain proper operational procedures (Operations Manual) for each location
Analyze each operation with a focus on improving service and efficiency
Coordinate with Supervisors daily, to ensure proper operation of each location
Assist Operations Manager and General Manager to maximize overall revenues for each location
Establish and maintain proper staffing levels for each location
Conduct regular, on-site training of staff, to ensure all internal/external policies are being adhered to (uniform, lot conditions, customer service, etc…)
Coordinate with Supervisors for regular lot audits (revenue and operational)
Coordinate with Supervisors (and Operations Manager) the annual distribution of client hangtags
Manage A/R (with help from service coordinator) for each location
Human Resources

Manage and Supervise the daily activities of the Supervisors
Ensure that hiring policies are followed for each employee
Review with Operations Manager all terminations for field staff, and ensure prior approval from General Manager
Conduct annual performance reviews of Supervisors, and semi-annual reviews of field staff
Conduct interviews on regular basis, for current and future staffing requirements
Take disciplinary measures when and where required, with staff
Approve and submit all payroll for field staff
What Are We Looking For?

College diploma and / or a minimum of 3 years operational and management experience
Demonstrated ability to understand and report on P & L statements
Proven customer relations experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business and operational acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to learn on the job
The ideal candidate should be available from Monday to Friday during the day and occasionally evenings and weekends when required.
