Job Overview
Ensure safety and well-being of each child;
Plan and implement a suitable program to ensure high quality care and to meet the needs of all children, utilizing clear and concise routines, rules, and limits;
Engage positively and appropriately with children;
Participate in all physical activities with the children including but not limited to: field trips, hiking, biking, sports and other activities;
Perform and be responsible for housekeeping tasks and all duties outlined in the daily shift requirements;
Ensure the safety and maintenance of the equipment and toys at all times;
Employees at every level, including management, are responsible and accountable for the Municipality’s overall safety initiatives. Complete and active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for the safety excellence the Municipality expects.

Job Requirements 
**Rate of pay will be determined by candidates' level of certification**

Your resume and cover letter must clearly describe how you meet the following minimum qualifications:

18+ years of age;
Post-secondary education with a Level 1 – Early Childhood Educator certification from Alberta; or the ability to become certified within 6 months of beginning employment;
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification;
Favourable Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector;
Program planning and implementation;
Excellent oral and written skills;
Demonstrated leadership ability;
Sound knowledge of child development;
Ability to work in a confidential environment;
Excellent team player;
Ability to relate well to children, parents, colleagues and community;
Compassion and humour;
Demonstrated ability to supervise children.
