Full Job Description
Position Overview
The Rental Attendant works as part of the Rental and Repair Shop team. He/She is responsible for greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and efficient manner. Rental Attendants will get customers correctly fitted and equipped with ski or boarding gear. They will assist in the general upkeep of the Rental, Repair and “fishbowl” areas.
This is a full-time seasonal role (November/December through May), 5 days out of 7 per week.
Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Recreational mountain pursuits, such as rock climbing, and ski touring, are considered assets.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated aptitude to learn about ski and snowboarding equipment and fitting
Well-groomed and professional appearance appropriate to Marmot Basin Policies
Basic computer skills
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Achieve and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of rental equipment as mandated by our suppliers
Become certified on a wide variety of equipment and products as mandated by our suppliers (repairs)
Assist customers throughout the shop: completing waivers, boot fitting, binding settings, answering queries, etc.
Binding (“DIN”) testing
Assist in the general upkeep of the Rental/Repair shop area
Complete Marmot Basin required training with accompanied training checklists
Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures as set in the Rentals Training Manual
Ensure all work-related activities follow Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to the job
Perform other duties as assigned.
The staff member may be required to work some shifts in the Marmot Basin Sales Centre, located next to Tim Hortons in Jasper. The duties include, but are not limited to:

Count float at beginning & end of shift and sign it IN and OUT on control sheet
Handle cash, credit card and debit transaction while using a computerized system (RTP)
Know how to check usages on different cards (sunshine-marmot, snow pass junior, etc.)
Know how to create customer profiles, check transaction history and hotlist passes if needed
Cash-out and print the appropriate reports at the end of shift
Make sure everything is in balance and debit machine is closed (transmit offline data)
Receive guest complaints, give refunds if appropriate, refer to rental or guest supervisor if needed
Be knowledgeable about the hill and where things are located. Know who to call if unsure.
Inform people about how Season’s passes, Family Snow Club Cards and SMC direct to lift passes work
Sell and process all the previously mentioned cards as well as window tickets and apply different types of discounts to window tickets
Complete admin paper work when quiet
Fix problems that could occur with the set-up of different products (e.g. component missing in a season pass sale, so pass is not scanning.)
Problem solve and report on any IT issues to be able to help fix or report problems to our Support IT department.
Training for position will be provided any previous experience with RTP or Marmot Basin will be considered an asset but not essential.
