Accounting Generalist

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Finance and Business Support, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Daily balancing of individual cash deposits using the daily cash sheet prepared by Day Audit
Preparation of daily bank deposits
Cash, due back, and float issuance as required
Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable as assigned with daily and weekly tasks
Service of JPL colleagues and retail tenants during Cashier hours or as required
Perform periodic float counts per FHR Standards and monitor staff shortages
Preparation of Travel Agent commission payment reports & records
Collection and tracking of hotel staff laundry revenue
Preparation and submission of Accounting Stationary orders and Xerox supplies
Completion of month end closeout procedures
Following all safety and sanitation policies
Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:

Previous experience is an asset
Knowledge of Windows and Excel is a must
Basic Accounting skills including ability to work unsupervised, work accurately, and meet deadlines
Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and work in an environment of confidentiality
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible and reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel
Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer
Hospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections
Sitting: 7-8 hr/day
Walking: 0-1 hr/day
Standing: 1-2 hr/day
Bending/reaching: 1-2 hr/day
Pushing/pushing: 0-1 hr/day
Physical effort: does not lift weights over 25 lbs (23 KG)
Visual effort: high
Environmental stress: busy atmosphere
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
