General Characteristics

What do we really do on the desk? Well, we help people create some of the best memories they’ll ever have in their life. We help them connect with nature, with the loved ones they’re with, and to feel so welcomed and cared for they won’t even believe it.

To accomplish this we live the mission statement. We strive to provide everyone with the best experience possible. This is not only about what we say, and how we say it, but also about what we do and how we do it. We even approach all of our more administrative routine duties like data entry and filing in various reports with absolute diligence because we understand its necessary for smooth operations.

Whether taking messages for managers, helping tour directors with food and beverage orders, recommending sites and booking activities for guests, chatting with interested parties on the phone, making reservations in the dining room, checking people in / out, or communicating with housekeeping (often all these at once!) that it is done with clarity, professionalism and kindness.

The position requires a lot of learning early on. It’s a massive learning curve. There is so much information to get familiar with and master. There is a good amount of paper work, computer work and data entry, but an equal amount of getting to know people, chatting, and for lack of a better word, sales.
