Brewster Travel Canada has been providing amazing natural experiences to guests of the Canadian Rocky Mountains since 1892. Starting with two young Brewster brothers providing guided excursions in the Rocky Mountain national parks, we are now a leading travel and tourism provider in Canada. We own and operate five of the biggest attractions in the Rocky Mountains; the Banff Gondola, Banff Lake Cruise, Maligne Lake Cruise, Glacier Adventure and the all new Glacier Skywalk. We are passionate, local travel experts who help all our guests get the very most out of their Canadian travel holiday.
Located, 200km north of Banff and 100km south of Jasper, the Columbia Icefield is an adventurer's mecca providing a unique on-site living and working environment in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Glacier Adventure and Glacier Skywalk attractions offer guests a fully guided, interpretive experience that includes a trip onto the Athabasca Glacier and experience the Glacier Skywalk. All staff live onsite at the Columbia Icefield in a very social, staff camp environment. We enjoy an extensive list of outdoor activities after work, and on weekends, including hiking, rock-climbing, camping, fishing and much more. New to the mountains? The Line Cook will provide excellent guest experiences through the careful preparation and cooking of food items while offering friendly, professional interaction with all of our guests. Line Cooks will consistently be working in a manner that provides a safe and enjoyable experience for the guest, co-workers and self.
Maintenance and cleanliness of service areas and dining areas
Wash, peel and cut vegetables
Clean and cut meats, fish and poultry
Clean kitchen equipment and cooking utensils
Prepare, season and cook foods such as soups, salads, meat, fish, gravies, vegetables, desserts, sauces and casseroles
Carve meats, prepare portions on plates and add gravies, sauces and garnish to servings
Prepare items for buffets
Prepare special diets
Stocking and maintenance of product level
Serving on the cafeteria line as required
Work Schedule
Able to commit to a contract of April, 2017 - October 15th, 2017
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
High attention to detail and good communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Previous cooking experience
Excellent organizational skills
Food Safe an asset
