About the Role:

As a Powerline Technician Team Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of our powerline construction, maintenance, and service operations. Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations, you will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and directing the activities of designated line and service employees, as well as contract crews.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and mentor a team of Powerline Technicians and Apprentices to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality powerline construction, maintenance, and repairs.
Oversee daily operations, including planning, scheduling, and assigning work for service crews and contractors.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Respond to emergencies, service interruptions, and customer concerns while maintaining a high standard of service and reliability.
Manage resources, costs, and materials, ensuring operational efficiency and budget adherence.
Provide technical expertise in live-line work, powerline construction, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades.
Support training, competency assessments, and career development for Powerline Technicians and Apprentices.
Monitor worksite safety, conduct inspections, and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
What You Bring:

Valid Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certificate issued for the Province of Alberta or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Journeyperson Powerline Technician.
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Valid Class 5 vehicle operator's license. Ability to obtain Class 1 or Class 3 vehicle operator’s license.
Strong utilities knowledge, skills and experience at the journeyperson level to provide guidance and leadership for employees reporting to this position.
Sound computer skills, including Mobile TC & Viewer, Syclo, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong understanding of Maximo would be an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge of live line techniques using bare hand, sticks and 25kv rubber glove work achieved through live line training is preferred.
Residency and Standby Requirements:

This role requires participation in after-hours standby duties to provide emergency response.
This role requires residency within the established service boundary for Jasper, AB.
