This position is a part-time temporary role with a flexible schedule to accommodate additional employment. No staff accommodation available. We will only accept applications from individuals already residing in Jasper.

Our Career & Employment Coaches are responsible for helping people connect to employment opportunities, generating leads, building and maintaining relationships in the business community and being knowledgeable on local labour market trends. 

 

What will you do? 

Work with clients to develop and implement an action plan for gaining employment, including supporting clients with developing resumes and cover letters, and preparing for interviews. 
Assist walk in clients with accessing resume templates and utilising the job board.
Work closely with local employers and agencies to identify job openings and connect clients with potential employment opportunities.
Accurate case management of all clients including maintaining detailed records, entering client data into government database, writing reports, client follow up, and various administrative duties.
Keep up to date with Jasper’s labour market needs and emerging trends 
Submit monthly reports and client information necessary for billing
Maintain strict confidentiality of client files and personal information
Work with community organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to provide additional resources and services to clients.

Job Requirements 
What does it take to do this job?

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills 
Must be able to write strong accomplishment based resumes and cover letters
Must be able to assist clients from all walks of life and be ready to take initiative and provide support.
Diploma or post-secondary degree in human services or related discipline an asset
Intermediate to advanced computer skills; proficient in Google Workspace
Previous experience working with persons facing multiple barriers an asset

Patience, understanding, and the ability to listen non-judgmentally
Ability to motivate and inspire clients
Ability to build relationships with agencies, service providers, employers, and clients
Ability to manage sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols
Positive and professional attitude both inside and outside the organization
Must enjoy consulting with people, compiling information, and working with clients to develop innovative solutions. 
Knowledge of employment barriers, community resources, and employment-related training
