What will be your daily pursuit?:
This role will directly oversee the daily operations of the Columbia Icefield employee staff accommodation. The Camp Coordinator will ensure a memorable and positive experience for our Staff through implementing and delivering the Standard operating policies and procedures as they relate to our Service, safety and employee engagement standards and practices. This position will act as the “on the floor” daily leadership for our staff accommodation.

This fun summer role begins April 8 and runs until October 26, 2024!
Compensation:
The starting wage for this role is $21.00/ hour

What will you do in this job?:
Active member of the Columbia Icefield leadership team, supporting peers & continually working at building a cohesive team which works together to achieve results.
Review inventory, menu planning & grocery orders with the Chef to maintain standards of service are met and budgets/criteria followed
Ensure all staff adhere to safety requirements and guidelines with handling and use of any chemicals that are within the WHMIS classification
Assist, execute & close investigations in a confidential manner for accidents/incidents while following all procedures
Greet and ensure all staff are introduced and trained with site operations & expectations of duties assigned. Provide supervision, guidance and support to all housing and kitchen staff and management. This includes but not limited to; training and development through coaching and mentoring, delegation of assigned job tasks, direction and assistance with personnel problems, employee evaluation and performance management.
Ensure the health and safety of all camp staff and residents by enforcing all camp rules, health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure that quality camp services are maintained at an acceptable level for customer satisfaction and contractual obligations.
Uphold camp and workplace health and safety standards
Ensuring the camp cleanliness and food quality
Troubleshooting minor maintenance problems as necessary
Help with all the office duties such as checking staff in and out of rooms, supervising facility cleaner staff, and responding to staff concerns
Ensuring all company policies and procedures are being enforced and adhered to all by field staff and supervisors
Ensure that all service expectations, standards and qualities are being met and exceeded on a continual basis, providing employee coaching and direction as required.
Act accordingly to all emergency and safety protocols taking on a leadership role as required for any instances that arise.
Actively participating in team’s activities during and after operational hours
Being on call 2 nights per week at our staff accommodation – (MOD program)
Leading opening and closing of our staff accommodation, task can vary from cleaning, employee move in/out, uniform cleaning and common room cleaning
Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Post-secondary education or equivalent in work experience
2 years supervisory experience in the hospitality field with proven ability to manage and direct a team.
Strong organizational, communication skills & proven strength in Problem Solving and ability to make decisions.
Flexible (ability to work varying hours/days as business needs dictate),
Valid Canadian driver’s license (with less than 5 demerit points)
Must have excellent interpersonal and guest relation skills
Able to identify and act upon safety concerns
A proven record as a team leader/motivator who works well under pressure, possesses strong attention to detail and time management skills
Conflict management experience
Computer proficient – Microsoft office
Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment
Must enjoy working in a remote location (camp setting) and have an outdoor enthusiast nature.
Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards
