Compensation:
The wage for this position is $17.50/hour. An end of season performance bonus of up to $1.00 for every regular hour worked once you complete your contract
What will be your daily pursuit?:
The Facilities Cleaner supports an exceptional guest experience by providing a safe, clean and professional looking facility for guests visiting the Glacier Discovery Center.

What will you do in this job?:
Perform established cleaning duties on a daily basis for all guest and team member areas including staff accommodation common areas.
Keep emergency exits and hallways clear of debris
Ensure cleaning checklists and maintenance logs are maintained and up to date
Maintain garbage collection areas and help facilitate an effective recycling program
Preform minor painting and plumbing duties
Ensure supply stock is adequate and well organized
Cardboard bailing and organization of building recycling
Assist other departments with retrieving supplies, daily set up, and closing duties
Assist with preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedures
Assist with evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency
Notify Facilities Supervisor on duty of any safety hazards or concerns
Answer guest questions regarding the Glacier Adventure and Glacier Skywalk
Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Organization and time management skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest and employee is the most important aspect of this position!
Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated
Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds as necessary
Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
Internally motivated with a consistently high level of energy
Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention
High attention to detail
Strong organizational skills, while possessing flexibility towards different tasks
Confidence to safely use common hand tools such as hammers, drills, wrenches and screwdrivers
Experience in a custodial or light maintenance role an asset
Tourism or hospitality industry experience an asset
Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Be prepare for all season weather (Snow, Rain, Wind, Hail)
Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards

Standard First-Aid or higher an asset
What will your work environment be like?:
Typically, 5 days on/2 days off
6 days on/1 day off during Peak Periods
No specific days off, can rotate over the weeks and depending on business level
Long Weekends may incur schedule changes
Expect 30 – 50+ hours per week depending on business levels
