What is in it for you: Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time status Competitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent status Employee Travel Program Comprehensive Wellness Platform (LifeWorks) Discounts on food & beverage/spa/golf Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and over 5,000 properties with Accor What you will be doing: Reporting to the Director of Event Sales & Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards Responsible for the integrity and posting of the Daily Change Log and Daily reports Updating of the BEO Binder – daily (with change log & Event Orders) and weekly review for accuracy Review, coordinate and manage Elopements, Small Weddings, Signature Events & Social Market as assigned working closely with the Catering Sales Manager, Weddings & Special Events Manager Manage and execute the terms of the contract for the Social Market as outlined by the Catering Sales Manager and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards Conduct pre-planning sites and assist in the sales process where required Manage the Wedding Inbox and assist with inquiries, bookings and contracts Quote and negotiate prices within established parameters and process contracts Book, block, service & distribute, FAMs, Tastings and Internal Events as assigned Establish a close working relationship with clients and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts colleagues Responsible for the successful outcome of events from pre-arrival through to post-departure Monitor and manage guest room pick up through timely follow-up with conveners and enforcement of contract cut-off dates Maximize food, beverage and auxiliary revenues by selling menus, themes and experiences/activities Efficiently use function space to maximize revenues while minimize space usage Communicate all details of assigned events to all departments in a professional, thorough and timely manner by attending weekly and/or daily internal meetings, issuing Resumes, Event Orders, Floor plans and internal correspondence effectively Work closely with the client and hotel departments throughout the duration of events by being available to assist the client and hotel departments at the appropriate times Maintain a high level of service by continually providing accurate and timely information and feedback to all departments Accurately forecast Banquet revenue, covers and average checks Maintain the integrity of Sales & Catering at all times Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles Follow all safety and sanitation policies Other duties as assigned Your experience and skills include: Highly motivated and guest driven with a proven ability to solve problems and make timely guest service decisions. Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions and projects while meeting deadlines. Post Secondary education in a Hospitality/Tourism related field is an asset Minimum two years’ experience in Food & Beverage/Hotel Catering/Sales, additional experience in the hospitality industry required Strong working knowledge of Sales & Catering, Property Manager (Micros Opera), Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point programs required Knowledge of current hospitality industry trends Strong sales skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Your team and working environment: Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer Hospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
