Beauty Creek Wilderness Hostel Manager

The opportunity to join our team as Wilderness Hostel Manager at HI-Beauty Creek in Jasper National Park
 is a seasonal, full-time salaried position.
 
This position is available May 9 - October 15, 2016. The starting wage is $1941.33 monthly plus housing as
 a taxable benefit, and includes a 6% vacation entitlement.  On site staff accommodation located 10K.M
 north of the Ice fields.
 
Reporting to the General Manager of Jasper Wilderness Properties, the Hostel Manager is a one-man
 show who delivers a clean, organized hostel and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include
  the opening and closing of the hostel, cash control, as well as meeting service and financial targets.
  
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills and an understanding of all aspects of
customer service. He/she will also possess the ability to remain composed during high-pressure situations,
 be comfortable working alone and have previous hostelling experience and/or experience in the tourism,
 service, or hospitality industry. The successful candidate needs a car.

HI-Beauty Creek Wilderness Hostel is unique among the Rocky Mountain hostels.
It is located in one of the very few places where there is a large open tract of land to spot wildlife
 from the hostel. This is one of the very few places where you may see caribou from the hostel
or highway. Wolf packs have been sighted crossing the road and moving along Beauty Creek
and Sunwapta River Flats.Take a couple of hours and follow the Creek as it flows through eight
sets of waterfalls along a limestone gorge to the foot of the magnificent Stanley Falls. Wilcox Pass
and the Columbia Icefield Centre are quick 14km drive away.
