Key duties include: Validating and updating existing asset information in Maximo for buildings, cultural/heritage assets, roads, bridges, trails, recreational facilities, water and wastewater systems, petroleum storage tanks, campgrounds, remote/backcountry assets and other Field Unit assets. Verifying asset metrics and lifecycle information, including current replacement value, deferred work, condition, useful life, component records and work history. Identifying assets missing from Maximo and building component-level detail on existing asset records to support condition assessment, maintenance planning, capital planning and lifecycle reporting. Planning, scheduling, completing, monitoring and tracking code-compliance or mandatory inspections that do not require completion by a certified tradesperson or regulated professional. Ensuring inspection results, deficiencies and follow-up actions are recorded in Maximo or other approved tracking systems and are brought forward for action. Supporting work-order setup, work-history capture, record updates and closeout for work performed on Field Unit assets. Completes field-based facility and asset inspections, validates asset and component information in Maximo, identifies deficiencies, maintenance needs, and potential code-compliance concerns, and supports updates to condition ratings, remaining useful life, and current replacement values for major facility components, while escalating work that requires a certified tradesperson, consultant, or regulated professional. Working with the EG-06 Facilities and Fleet Supervisor, Asset Manager, tradespersons, operations, contractors and other stakeholders to reconcile asset accounting information, validate records and prepare clear summaries or recommendations. Work environment The Jasper Field Unit manages a large, varied and highly visible asset portfolio that supports visitor experience, environmental stewardship and preservation, and staff operations. The portfolio includes buildings, utilities, roads, bridges, trails, campgrounds, visitor facilities, heritage assets, water and wastewater systems, petroleum storage tanks, and remote/backcountry infrastructure. This position is one of the builder roles in a new Facilities and Fleet team. The Field Unit is bringing together asset record management, asset data quality, current replacement value updates, component-level asset information, maintenance planning, and code-compliance inspection that has previously been spread across different groups and systems. The work combines field verification and desktop data remediation. Some days will involve visiting sites and documenting what is actually in the field; other days will involve Maximo clean-up, spreadsheets, records reconciliation, deficiency tracking and preparing practical summaries for the EG-06 Facilities and Fleet Supervisor, Asset Manager, trades, operations and other stakeholders.
