Front of House Team Member

Reports To
Food and Beverage Supervisor, Food and Beverage Manager, Chef

Position Overview
Under the direction and supervision of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Front of House Team Member works as part of a service-oriented team within a high-volume food service environment. They are responsible for performing general duties supporting catered functions and cafeteria operations, ensuring a positive and welcoming guest experience at all times.

This role is often the first point of contact for guests in the food service area, requiring strong customer service skills, professionalism, and a positive, team-focused attitude.
The incumbent should expect to be working primarily indoors in a standing position, with occasional outdoor work in all weather conditions, including adverse conditions.
This is a full-time seasonal role. Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Qualifications
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar food service or hospitality setting
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to read, interpret, and accurately process orders
Knowledge of food service operations and health and safety procedures
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and high-volume environment while maintaining organization and efficiency
Must be able to lift up to 15 kilograms and push up to 50 kilograms
Ability to work in varying temperatures throughout the day (both indoor and outdoor environments)
Cash handling experience, including POS and credit card transactions
Experience setting up a bar and/or serving liquor is considered an asset
ProServe certification is an asset; candidates without certification will be required to obtain it upon commencement of employment
Ability to ski or snowboard blue runs

Job Duties / Responsibilities
Follow Alberta safe food handling guidelines while maintaining a clean and safe workspace, including daily temperature log recordkeeping
Perform a variety of front-of-house shifts, which may include function service, hosting, food running, buffet running, bussing, and restocking
Assist with preparation of side dishes required for daily service
Assist cooks with packaging and portioning food as required
Stock and track inventory of food and beverage items for daily operations
Assist in setting up the dining hall for service periods
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining hall between sittings and at the end of service
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing and service areas
Support completion of the weekly sanitation checklist
Act as cashier when required, including POS and payment processing duties
Assist the Food Service Manager with receiving cafeteria supply deliveries
Attend professional development and training sessions as scheduled
Perform additional duties as required

Additional
Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times and proactively identify and report any safety concerns that could impact staff or guests
Ensure all opening and closing procedures are followed and completed daily in the chalets
Maintain a strong guest-focused, professional, and team-oriented approach in all aspects of work
