Job Description As Maintenance Person at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies. What is in it for you: Subsidized staff accommodation provided on-site for full time status Competitive extended benefits package including medical, vision and dental for full time permanent status Employee Travel Program Comprehensive Wellness Platform Discounts on food & beverage/fitness centre/spa/golf Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and over 5,000 properties with Accor What you will be doing: Reporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Follow policies, procedures and service standards Respond to all calls as efficiently as possible from all departments within the hotel Troubleshoot issues using trade support, source material found on line or in owner manuals Complete preventative maintenance/work order tickets assigned Respond to all emergency/fire alarm/ loss of power calls as required Responsible for ensuring the safe condition and safe operation of all equipment before use Follow all safety and sanitation policies including documentation as required Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles Other duties as assigned Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Related maintenance experience required High School completion required Valid Alberta Drivers License required Technical School completion an asset Level 1 Pool Certification an asset Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & Power Point) Basic mechanical ability, including knowledge of plumbing carpentry and general maintenance Excellent communication and organizational skills Responsible and able to complete work without supervision Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work a variety of shifts Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Your team and working environment: Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resort in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer Hospitality employees worldwide making this a great place to develop lifelong connections Sitting: 1-2 hr/day Walking: 4-8 hr/day Standing: 4-8 hr/day Bending/Reaching: 4-8 hr/day Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day Physical Effort: must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, must be able to work from ladders, lifts and scaffolding Visual Effort: high Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside, outside and mechanical service areas Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
