What will you do in this job?:
Demonstrate a positive attitude and hospitality safety-first approach
Oversee proper disposal of compost, cardboard, and recyclables on-site in the Maligne Valley
Enhance and maintain a waste reduction program for the Maligne Valley through effective composting, and recycling initiatives
Develop training information, and tools. Then deliver the required training and ongoing support to the various operations teams to ensure the recycling/compost program needs are being met to expectations
Oversee and transfer of compost, cardboard, and recyclables to Jasper Transfer Station
Working with Director of Tour Operations, lead and organize Green Team meetings
Facilitate and run an effective recycling and compost program through proper sorting and storage and having effective measurement practices in place to gauge effectiveness of programs.
Work with the Director of tour operations on planning and development of future opportunities regarding promise to place initiatives.
Assist the Groundskeeping and Cleaner team with established cleaning duties when needed for all guest and team member areas including staff accommodation common areas
Adhere to all WHMIS and other departmental safety requirements and tell supervisor on duty of any safety hazards or concerns
Assist with general landscaping maintenance including grass cutting, trimming, leaf blowing and raking as needed
During peak hours bussing of tables may be required
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:

Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a more remote (yet very social) environment
Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds as necessary
A self-starter who works well under low supervision
A handy individual who is not afraid to get their hands dirty
Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Be prepared for all season weather (snow, rain, wind, hail)
Must meet the organization's grooming and appearance standards

Standard First-Aid or higher an asset
Class 5 or G Driver’s License required
Ability to drive a trailer is an asset (training will be provided)
