What will you do in this job?:
The Assistant Manager ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day operations for the hotel restaurant and special events, including banquets.

Supervise staff and ensure that guest expectations are exceeded at all times
Keep the food and beverage areas clean and maintain exemplary food hygiene practices
Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff
Assist with inventory management
Oversee proper unpacking of weekly orders
Ensure storage locations neat and tidy at all times
Assist with the monthly counting ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
Able to address customer complaints or issues, and resolve matters as expediently as possible
Oversee food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes
Assist with Cocktail Creation and menu development; let your passion shine!
Lead and execute weddings, conferences and signature events
Ensure that no detail is missed and the event is delivered flawlessly
Daily billing and financial responsibilities to be completed accurately and efficiently
A leader in daily communication on guest feedback, employee performance and notes from the days shift
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic computer skills
Highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time
Strong proven leadership qualities and management skills
High school or equivalent education required, degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is a strong asset
2 years' in a hotel or restaurant industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position
Working knowledge of MICROS or similar P.O.S. system is an asset
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Pursuit standards
