Job Description

Join our team as a Grounds and Equipment Manager and take charge of planning, designing, and maintaining beautiful, environmentally friendly landscapes while ensuring efficient and safe operations year-round. Lead the management of seasonal projects, oversee equipment operations, and ensure the safety and well-being of both guests and colleagues.

Job Duties Include:

Plan and design attractive and environmentally friendly landscape projects for summer operations, which demonstrate an understanding of alpine horticulture and balance with the impact of the department’s wintertime snow clearing and event operation.
Prepared and capable of working in extreme weather and cold conditions (-40C) throughout winter season.
Plan and coordinate the construction of natural rink surfaces totaling 90,000 square feet, Ice Castle, and the main structure of the hotel’s ice bar.
Effective planning and use of resources - expense management and budget controls
Colleague performance management, development - including selection and training
Develop and implement operating, payroll, and capital budgets
Exterior property facilities maintained allowing for Colleague and Guest safety - giving attention and having the foreknowledge of seasonal environmental dangers, including safety procedures for operating on natural ice rink surfaces, operation of heavy equipment through crowds, overhead roof hazard clearing.
Maintenance and effective use of hotel grounds equipment and vehicles – proficiency and capable of training effective operators in a variety of heavy equipment (plow truck, skid steer, & front end loader)
Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program.
Interpreting and clearing wintertime hazards, performing lawn and garden care, while adhering to the strict environmental policies with the National Park system
Arranging and coordinating maintenance and preventative maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.
Responsible for maintaining all hotel vehicles, coordinating with vendors for CVIP inspections, repairs, and regular maintenance, managing seasonal tire changes, and overseeing any other related vehicle requirements.
Qualifications

Experience in maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and winter equipment
Experience in operations and maintenance of heavy equipment like loaders and bobcats
Previous supervisory experience required
Minimum five years landscape experience along with heavy equipment operation
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
