Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as our new Bell Captain. As a Bell Captain with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, you’ll offer a smile and a helping hand to our Guests as you personally greet them on their arrival. Your knowledge of the hotel and the professionalism you display will create a sense of “welcome” like no other.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards, including all safety policies
Responsible for the transportation of Guests on and off property as well as the delivery of luggage and any other items for delivery within the Hotel
Responsible for the training and development of the Guest Services team and overseeing Guest Services operations
Ensure all emails addressed to Bell Team answered and actioned and updated in the Log Book
Ensure Bell captain checklist is completed by the end of each shift
Maintain a presence in the Lobby offering assistance to Guests, opening main entrance doors and car doors upon Guests' arrival under the direction of the Guest service manger
Manage curb-side check in process to ensure all standards are followed
Direct the Bellperson team each shift regarding coordination of tour arrivals, departures, tour Guests, special requests and assistance to Guests throughout the property
Consistently uphold a professional and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the company’s established grooming policies and standards.
Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Valid Alberta Class 4 Driver's license (or equivalent) and a clean driving record required
1 year guest service experience required
Minimum of one year of demonstrated leadership experience is required.
Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities, outgoing and ability to anticipate Guests' needs
Highly responsible, reliable, punctual and able to work flexible hours
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, and address guest concerns while remaining calm and courteous at all times
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
