Our 2026 camp season features Monday-Friday, (5-day, 4-night) camps, beginning with a 9-day orientation week starting May 21st. The season concludes with a summer staff wrap-up celebration on August 21st. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, the Team Lead will lead and work collaboratively with your team of counselors to provide care and support for 14-16 individuals with disabilities in your cabin and throughout all camp programs. You play a key role in fostering an inclusive environment where all campers and counselors feel valued and accepted during their time at camp. The position requires you to ensure each camper receives personal care, behavior management, and supervision in a safe, respectful, and nurturing manner. You will be on-site 24/5 while campers are present, providing continuous support and guidance for your campers and counselors throughout their camp experience. Assist campers with transfers using one/two-person or mechanical lifts. · Provide personal care for campers as needed including but not limited to feeding, bathing, toileting, and dressing · Recognize and support each camper’s specific needs, providing the best possible physical and emotional care while assisting in behavior management when applicable · Maintain a clean and organized cabin while encouraging campers to take an active role in daily cabin clean-up · Address behaviours as needed, mentor and lead campers with a positive attitude, while encouraging participation · Assist with conflict resolution for campers and counselors where needed, reporting any concerns to the coordinator · Provide feedback both constructive and positive to your team · Attend daily team leader meetings with the coordinator and pass along any important information to your team · Complete daily cleaning tasks and camp reset on the last day of the camp This may be one of the most rewarding and challenging roles you ever experience. QUALIFICATIONS No experience needed — just a willingness to learn! This position is especially great for students in psychology, sports studies, nursing, social work, education, or similar programs. Current Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification valid for the entire work term (support available if not currently certified) Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently set priorities Ability to provide personal care, support behavior management, and lead activities Responsible, reliable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a caring attitude · Willingness to jump in, be silly, dress up, and take part in camp fun (yes, including the dunk tank!)
