TITLE : Marketing & Sales Manager

REPORTS TO : Vice-President

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This is a year-round, full-time role.

The Marketing & Sales Manager at Ski Marmot Basin is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the annual marketing and sales budget and program. Under the guidance of the Vice President, this role contributes to both short- and long-term business growth through strategic planning and tactical execution.

Key responsibilities include managing relationships with key sales accounts (including travel and trade partners), overseeing public and media relations activities, and ensuring the timely execution of marketing, promotional, and advertising campaigns.

Additionally, the Marketing & Sales Manager oversees and collaborates with the marketing and sales team on various initiatives, such as consumer and trade shows, promotions and events, community engagement, digital marketing and social media, content creation, database management, and ongoing communication efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & Sales Strategy Development

Collaborate with senior management to define the resort's marketing and sales objectives aligned with the overall business goals.
Develop and implement integrated strategies for marketing and sales to drive resort visibility, customer engagement, loyalty, and overall growth.
Campaign and Sales Program Planning & Execution

Design and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote Marmot Basin's offerings, including programs, packages, events, and special promotions.
Oversee sales initiatives to optimize product distribution, drive sales, and ensure strong relationships with key partners.
Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all marketing and sales materials.
Budget Management & Resource Allocation

Develop and manage the combined marketing and sales budget in collaboration with the Vice President, ensuring resource optimization across all campaigns, sales efforts, and initiatives.
Customer & Market Insights

Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and gather customer insights to refine both marketing and sales strategies.
Use data to identify opportunities, trends, and areas for improvement in both sales performance and marketing campaigns.
Sales Relationship Management

Cultivate relationships with travel, trade, and distribution partners to maximize exposure and revenue.
Conduct sales calls and meetings with key clients, ensuring strong and productive partnerships.
Attend travel/trade and consumer shows to represent Marmot Basin, generate leads, and increase brand visibility.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Leadership

Lead and execute the digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and paid campaigns.
Build and manage an engaging online community while ensuring the marketing and sales teams collaborate for optimal digital presence.
Community Engagement & Brand Management

Foster relationships with local businesses, tourism bodies, and industry partners to strengthen the resort's brand and drive sales through collaborative efforts (e.g., bundled offers).
Ensure a seamless integration of marketing initiatives with guest services and operations, enhancing the overall customer experience.
Performance Metrics, Reporting & Analytics

Track KPIs for both marketing and sales efforts, ensuring effective ROI analysis.
Regularly report on the performance of marketing campaigns, sales activities, and key metrics, providing actionable insights for leadership.
Event Marketing & Promotions

Lead the development and execution of events and targeted promotions to increase both customer engagement and off-peak visits.
Develop and manage customer loyalty programs or VIP experiences to encourage repeat visits and customer retention.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with the Operations, and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless marketing and guest experience integration.
Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications or associated fields (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Proven two (2) to four (4) years of related experience
Solid understanding of all major digital media platforms (i.e. Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Blogs and Consumer Email)
Strong proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Email Marketing platforms and principles
Intermediate to advanced level skier or snowboarder (for assignments on the hill).
