Job Overview
Parks Canada seeks an exceptional individual to occupy the role of Plumber Gas Fitter at the Jasper Field Unit. This position will offer a full-time role in the plumbing department maintaining assets located in Jasper National Park and Fort St. James National Historic Site. These sites are a mixture of modern and historic structures, recreational facilities, public utilities, and petroleum storage tanks. The successful candidate will work with a small team of plumbers and actively participate in plumbing and gas fitting operations, while also performing the following key responsibilities:

• Contribute to the creation of work plans for maintenance and repairs
• Ensure work orders are completed efficiently and effectively
• Identify issues and develop practical and cost-effective solutions with your supervisor
• Offer technical advice to teams and colleagues
• Maintain effective communication with your team and supervisor
• Carry out task with holding safety at the highest level.
• Ensure all repairs adhere to the current National Building Code standards
• Be available on a rotational basis for 24hr call out

Job Requirements 
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of current methods and practices related to plumbing, propane gas and utilities services;
- Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety best practices;
- Knowledge of water / waste water systems including treatment and distribution;
- Knowledge of Asset life cycle management.

ABILITIES
- Ability to use a computer, maintain work records, and use basic software such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to lead hazard assessments and conduct safety meetings for a team.
