We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team for the upcoming season. We offer flexible contract options, with both 4-month and 6-month contracts available. Start dates are in April or May, with all contracts concluding in October.

JOB SUMMARY:

As Line Cook at Jasper Inn & Suites, you will be responsible for conducting yourself professionally whilst ensuring the quality and standards of the Food & Beverage Department. You will be responsible for following all assigned tasks and duties, food preparation procedures, health and safety standards, kitchen operating procedures, kitchen equipment maintenance, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate under the direction of the Executive Chef.
Follow daily preparation lists and requirements.
Follow all opening and closing checklists and standard operating procedures.
Follow all cleaning checklists and logs for kitchen maintenance.
Follow all recipes and portion control standards correctly.
Ensure that all workstations remain clean, organized, and stocked before and during service.
Be on line cooking, calling orders and staging the timing of plate execution.
Ensure all kitchen inventory and storage areas are clean and organized.
Receive products; verify the invoices are correct and ensure product quality.
Produce high-quality product and service to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
Follow staffing guidelines and timeliness throughout working shift.
Maintain all health and safety standards as outlined by Government regulations.
Attend meetings related to Food & Beverage if required.
Perform other related duties as required by the Executive Chef / Sous Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of federal and provincial health, safety and food-handling laws and regulations.
Well experienced in proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Effective ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Open to taking directions; work well independently and as a member of a team.
REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 2 years work experience in a food preparation & cook position
University, College or Culinary education or extensive cooking and production experience considered a strong asset
Food Safety Certification or Training
First aid certification is an asset
WHMIS certification
