Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards Monitor the pace of play on the golf course Help players locate wayward golf balls Maintain cleanliness of the golf course Check water coolers and cups Repair all ropes and stakes used for cart direction Ensure carts are kept in the proper area during play Ensure the Starter’s Clocks are properly set on each of the water coolers Report all accidents and medical emergencies to the Golf Shop if they occur Move elk into areas where they will not have direct encounters with golfers Report any course problems such as course damage, leaky sprinklers, missing tee markers or any other general maintenance that might be required Follow all safety and sanitation policies Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Previous Golf experience is an asset Knowledgeable about the game of golf (understands concept of speed of play, appropriate etiquette and acceptable behaviour on a golf course) required Valid Alberta Drivers License required Must be capable of performing minor maintenance on course (hammering in stakes, moving ropes, etc) Must enjoy working outdoors and in all weather conditions Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Sitting: 2-8 hr/day Walking: 3-6 hr/day Standing: 3-7 hr/day Bending/reaching: 4-6 hr/day Pushing/pushing: 4-6 hr/day Physical effort: required to lift up to 50lbs Environmental stress: busy atmosphere Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
