Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious labourer to join our team in Jasper Alberta. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, debris clean up at construction sites, particularly those involving road building and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for directing vehicular traffic safely around construction zones, while collaborating with other team members to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct traffic using hand signals and/or traffic control devices to ensure the safe flow of vehicles around construction zones.
Set up and maintain road signage, cones, barriers, and other traffic control devices to divert traffic and ensure worker safety.
Communicate with construction team members to relay traffic information and update traffic patterns as needed.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites, ensuring that traffic control devices are properly placed and removed.
Report any hazards, issues, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or project manager.
Maintain awareness of traffic patterns and worksite conditions to adapt traffic control strategies as necessary.
Provide clear instructions to drivers and pedestrians to minimize disruptions and ensure safety.
Perform flagging and labour duties for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including snow and rain.
Light Labor including site clean-up, sweeping, snow shoveling, dust management (must be able to pick up and move around up to 25lbs)
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid traffic control or flagger certification (this training will be provided)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain alert and focused in high-traffic or hazardous environments.
Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for construction sites.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physically ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift light to moderate weight equipment
Physically able to pick up, push, pull and move around up to 25lbs
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
Working Conditions:

This position involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Long shifts may be required, including evenings, weekends, or holidays. Most days are 12 hour shift. Six days on. One day Off.
Physical demands include standing, walking, and heavy lifting and manual labourin.
Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Subsistence (LOA) and hotel for out of town candidates.
