About the position:  

Wildflowers Childcare is committed to supporting the Jasper community through high-quality early learning and childcare programs. The Recovery Early Childhood Educator (ECE) position has been created to provide essential support to children, families, and staff navigating the recovery process.

This role integrates recovery-focused initiatives into our childcare programming, emphasizing emotional well-being, developmental support, and staff resilience. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, collaborative team, balancing routine childcare responsibilities with recovery-related priorities to meet the evolving needs of our community.

The start date of this term position is as soon as possible with an end date of December 31, 2025

Work performed:  

Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in your care.
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate programming that integrates recovery-focused strategies.
Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters growth and resilience.
Maintain consistent communication with families regarding children’s development 
Provide trauma-sensitive emotional and developmental support to children affected by the wildfire.
Assist families in accessing recovery-focused resources and services.
Support staff in maintaining a positive, resilient work environment by ensuring and promoting team well-being.
Collaborate with other municipal departments to contribute to recovery initiatives.
Document program activities, learning stories, and recovery-related progress.
Attend professional development opportunities and contribute to team planning sessions.
Ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards.
Contribute to and uphold the Municipality’s safety initiatives by actively participating in and promoting a culture of safety at all levels
