What will be your daily pursuit?:
The People & Culture (P&C) Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing employee engagement and experience across Pursuit’s seven hotels in Jasper, the Jasper SkyTram, Columbia Icefield and Maligne Valley. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager in Jasper, this position is essential to the onboarding process and serves as a primary point of contact for all team members.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and adaptable professional with a positive attitude, strong public speaking skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing responsibilities effectively. This role collaborates closely with the Banff Jasper Collection People & Culture team, Talent Team, and operational management to create a welcoming and supportive work environment.

What will you do in this job?:
Onboarding & Employee Support:
Lead and facilitate weekly new hire orientation sessions including schedule creation, space bookings, and attendance tracking.
Assist new employees with new-hire onboarding, including responding to inquiries related to tax forms, SINs, and employment verification.
Answer questions related to benefits, perks, uniforms, housing, and more.
Connect employees with local resources, bus travel bookings, and respond to general inquiries and concerns related to working and living in the Rockies within a timely manner
Pre-Arrival Communications:
Create and distribute a series of new hire newsletters.
Organize and facilitate a series of live Q&A town hall sessions via Teams.
Send welcome emails to all new team members 10-14 days before their arrival in Jasper.
Administrative Support:
Process purge requests for terminated team members
Assist the Health & Safety team with WCB reporting as needed
Produce employment confirmation letters for active and terminated employees
Create engraved nametags for Front Desk and Maintenance staff across the Jasper properties
Develop team communications for event promotions, volunteer opportunities, and P&C updates. Collaborate on newsletters, create posters and social media posts.
Employee Engagement & Experience:
Develop a rolling calendar of events for the full Jasper team that are exciting and meaningful.
Collaborating with the operations leaders, manage all aspects of event coordination from budgeting, organizing, promoting, executing, and gathering feedback.
Manage staff Facebook pages, sharing local events, resources, and company updates.
Administrate staff recognition initiatives, such as Peak Awards organization and distribution.
Administer attraction and transportation bookings for staff, friends, and family according to policies.
Manage the employee corporate ski pass program and season pass program annually.
Key administrator of the Jasper lodging business and employee post office boxes, including collecting and distributing mail.
People Operations & Policy Support:
Collaborating with the P&C leadership team, administer employee change requests (transfers, wage adjustments, promotions, etc.) Create offer letters and transfer letters where required.
Assist the P&C leadership team by providing support to leaders on employee coaching in accordance with policies, procedures, and employment law where required.
Foster strong relationships with local operations leaders, providing guidance on P&C policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the wider team including marketing, benefits, payroll for projects.
Collaborate with the seasonal business operator’s Employee Experience Coordinators on projects to ensure consistent employee experience
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
Human Resources/People & Culture experience (an asset).
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and experience with HRIS.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
Energetic, positive, self-motivated, and passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences.
Confident public speaker.
Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
Valid drivers license and clean abstract.
Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Administrative experience (an asset).
Canva/graphic design skills (an asset)
